On behalf of the German Development Cooperation, the representatives of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH GIZ/CDBE is providing psychosocial support through Coaching: School Teachers and the staff of Learning Centers are working hard every day to ensure the inclusion of children returning from migration and other marginalized groups. They face numerous challenges like handling children with trauma symptoms (hyperarousal, aggression, etc.), missing documentation of school attendance abroad, school absenteeism or high drop-out rates amongst others. Their stress level is high and their options to address the topics, to professionally reflect on them and to enhance their response to them are limited. Therefore the coaching that GIZ on behalf of the German Government is providing since 16th of October helps them to stay grounded and be able to better respond to different challenges. It helps teachers in regard to their own self-care mechanisms and enhances their capacities to be better prepared for identifying and addressing the psychosocial needs of their students.
